Luniverse Hyperledger Fabric – Lambda256

Hyperledger Fabric has quickly become one of the most popular open source DLT projects, with hundreds of deployments worldwide. In 2019, 30 companies in the “Forbes Blockchain 50” were using it.
Luniverse, one of the leading BAAS platforms, is actively exploring the potentials of enterprise blockchains and has brought out key BAAS features. On March 18, Luniverse’s Hyperledger Fabric 2.0 was officially launched after Open Beta back in early January. It is cost-effective (50% off) as well as creates ease of developing and managing Hyperledger Fabric projects. In fact, unlike other BAAS platforms, users do not need to pay additional costs for adding Organizations.

Hyperledger Fabric 2.0 Updates

The Hyperledger Foundation has announced the release of an updated version to its flagship blockchain framework, Hyperledger Fabric on 30 July. Hyperledger Fabric 2.0’s improvements were focused on decentralization and data privacy. To begin with, the totally redesigned chaincode lifecycle management process introduces decentralized governance for smart contracts, with a new process for installing a chaincode on the peers and starting it on a channel. The new Fabric chaincode lifecycle allows multiple organizations to come to agreement on the parameters of a chaincode, such as the chaincode endorsement policy, before it can be used to interact with the ledger.

Furthermore, the new implicit organization-specific private data collection feature in v2.0 allows organizations to privately share data with other organizations in the channel on a need-to-know basis. Hashes on the channel ledger serve as transaction evidence to ensure that private data can be verified when shared, or later audited as needed.

But there’s still a long way to go…

Supports from hundreds of open source developers around the world allow Hyperledger Fabric to offer powerful features and become a leader in enterprise blockchain platforms. Nonetheless, many developers still struggle to apply such features into their real blockchain services.

1. Complex Network Settings

Numerous network components’ settings are very complicated. When a developer makes a small mistake in these settings, the network has high chance to break down. In fact, developers new to Hyperledger Fabric said that they had spent considerable time to configure the settings before even jumping into DApp development.

2. Absense of network monitoring tools

Network monitoring tools continuously observe your network for performance-related issues, but, in face, there is no data visualization tools. A few of the projects including Hyperledger Explorer try to address the issue, but overall it’s not helpful.

3. Absence of clear guidelines

Developers always face various unexpected issues when developing new applications. It takes quite some time to address security and transaction-related issues when developing a chaincode or a DApp.

Luniverse Hyperledger Fabric 2.0

Luniverse Hyperledger Fabric platform is a blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) solution for the Hyperledger Fabric network that will allow companies with little or no knowledge of blockchain technology to begin operating within the industry without incurring high costs. The Luniverse Standard plan is more affordable(up to 50% off) than other BAAS platforms’ plan.

Luniverse Hyperledger Fabric, latest 2.0 protocol, provides a simple network setting, enabling users to setup their network with “Easy Setting Mode” on Luniverse console. We believe data visualization is a key concept to understanding complicated blockchain process, so we do provide convenient management tools including network monitoring channel statistics, node monitoring to help users to observe Organization, Channel, Peer, Orderer and CA in a simple and easy-to-understand way. Furthermore, to detect security vulnerabilities while developing a chaincode, we do provide a chaincode security audit that demonstrates the health of DApp overall.
